Inner Banks Media was formed in 2007 by veteran North Carolina broadcasters to own and operate radio stations in the eastern part of the state. The principals in the start up of IBX Media were Henry Hinton and Hank Hinton who were and continue to be the owner/operators and Legendary Raleigh Broadcaster Don Curtis who divested his interest in 2017.
The company was born on an ideology of making the stations LOCAL in nature and “super serving” the communities in the market with good programming and effective marketing opportunities.
The original four stations (all FM) were WTIB, WRHT, WNBU and WRHD. WNCT was added to the group in 2017.
